Mums Help

Trina Hobson founded the Mum's Help data base of child carers when she found it almost impossible to get the help she needed in her home.  'With three children under the age of three, I just wanted some extra support in my own home a couple of mornings a week.  I found the process of advertising for a child carer in my local newspapers and shop windows very unsettling to say the least.  The Mum's Help website it designed to help other parents find the help they need at the click of a button.  The carers' profiles include information such as experience, qualifications and whether or not they have been police checked.  I've made it as user friendly as possible- but it's continually being improved.  I hope it helps other parents like me'.

Convenient
As the childminder comes to you, parents can leave the Mum’s Help worker to follow their usual routine in the child’s own familiar surroundings and aren’t tied to ‘normal’ working hours.

Quality

All Mum’s Help members have experience as a minimum requirement which, in some cases, extends to working with children with special needs-particularly useful for direct payments and respite. Reassuringly however, up to 65% of Mum’s Help members have a childcare qualification such as an NVQ.

Affordable

For regular childcare or babysitting, parents can search profiles of ladies on our website for free, only paying a one-off fee of £12.50 when they want to contact a member.  This allows the parents to view contact details of all the members for 30 days.  The parent then pays the member directly.
