Child Carers/Childminders
Many of our daytime child carers/childminders hold a childcare qualification, and a first aid certificate, allowing them to be 'approved’ by the Department of Health and Social Services. Some costs for ‘approved’ child care can be claimed back through the childcare element of the Working Tax Credits. Carers/minders can only become approved on the request of a parent.
Members include trained teachers, classroom assistants, day nursery workers and nurses.
Babysitters
Mum’s help babysitters are usually available from 6/7pm until late and have childcare experience as a minimum requirement. Mum’s help babysitters are not necessarily ‘approved’.
